Grant Parish Students Lead the Way Toward Healthier Schools
Students from across Grant Parish Public Schools are taking an active role in promoting healthy choices in their schools and communities.
Youth Health Advocates from Grant Junior High School, Georgetown High School, Grant High School, and Montgomery High School recently attended the 2026 Youth Summit on Healthy Behaviors hosted by The Rapides Foundation.
The summit gave students an opportunity to learn, connect with other young leaders, and explore topics that can have a lasting impact on their health and well-being.
Learning About Healthy Choices
During the summit, students focused on several important areas of health and wellness, including:
- Healthy eating and active living
- Drug and alcohol misuse prevention
- Vaping and tobacco prevention
Bringing What They Learned Back to School
The work of the Youth Health Advocates continues beyond the summit. Throughout the school year, students will work with their school coordinators to share what they have learned with classmates, raise awareness about healthy behaviors, and help plan activities that encourage healthy choices on their campuses and in their communities.
By taking on these leadership roles, students have an opportunity to make a positive difference among their peers while building their own knowledge and leadership skills.
Supporting Our Youth Health Advocates
Grant Parish Public Schools appreciates the school coordinators who are supporting the Youth Health Advocates throughout the year:

We are proud of our Youth Health Advocates for their willingness to learn, lead, and encourage others to make healthy choices. We also thank The Rapides Foundation for providing students with this opportunity through the 2026 Youth Summit on Healthy Behaviors.
