Grant Parish Public Schools supports athletic programs that promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and student growth. This page provides event safety information, student-athlete forms, spectator guidelines, and resources for families, visiting schools, coaches, and sponsors.

Athletic event procedures help create a safe and respectful environment for student-athletes, families, staff, officials, visiting schools, and community members.

Event Safety & Spectator Guidelines

Grant Parish Public Schools uses athletic event procedures to help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Visitors should review entry procedures, bag guidelines, event protocols, code of conduct, and ticket information before attending.

Entrance to Events

  1. Guests will pass through designated entrance areas and may pass through weapon detectors before entering. Designated areas will be identified with signage. The School Board reserves the right to inspect or search facilities, objects, or vehicles on school campuses. Random searches with a weapons detector and/or metal detector of a person or personal effects may be conducted.
  2. Any item that could be used as a weapon is not allowed. Examples include, but are not limited to, firearms, knives, other sharp objects, mace, and similar items. Items may be confiscated and not returned.
  3. Guests are discouraged from bringing bags into athletic facilities. Bags brought into facilities must follow the guidelines listed below.

Bag Guidelines

To help event entry move safely and efficiently, guests should follow these bag guidelines when attending athletic events.

Clear Plastic or Vinyl Bags

No larger than 12 x 6 x 12.

One-Gallon Clear Plastic Freezer Bag

Must be clear plastic.

Small Clutch Bags

No larger than 4.5 x 6.5; approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Medically Necessary Items

Allowed after proper inspection at the entrance.

Diaper Bags

Allowed with an infant/toddler and after proper inspection at the entrance.

Inspection reminder: Approved bags and approved exceptions may be inspected at the entrance.

Spectators and visitors are expected to help maintain a safe, respectful environment for all participants.

Before and During the Event

Grant Parish Schools are tobacco-free. No outside food or beverages should be brought into the event, except for one 32-ounce or smaller factory-sealed water bottle. Re-entry is not allowed after leaving; anyone entering must have a new, unused ticket. Audio and video surveillance cameras may be in use.

Code of Conduct

Sportsmanship and Supervision

Elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult. Guests should remain seated, use the bleachers, and avoid off-limit areas. Fighting, disrespectful behavior, or refusal to follow school officials’ directions may result in removal, denial of re-entry, or a ban from future school events.

All persons age 6 and up, school age, must purchase a ticket to enter. Game start times vary by event; please check the host school’s posted schedule.

Student-athletes and families may need to complete required LHSAA and Grant Parish forms before participation. Contact your coach, athletic director, or school office if you are unsure which forms are required.

Transportation Form

Athletic / Field Trip Mileage Form

For coaches, sponsors, and school staff using district transportation for athletic or field trips. This form is maintained through the Transportation Department and should be completed according to Transportation Department procedures.
