2026-2027 Grant Early Childhood Network Coordinated Application

Official application for Public Pre-K, Head Start, and Child Care Centers.

Step 1 of 6 – Early Childhood Application

STOP & READ: If you are applying for a Head Start or Childcare Center program, do not upload any documentation for this process. A Head Start or Child Care Center director will contact you for documentation. Child Care and Head Start programs collect application documentation separately.

It will be helpful to have the following documents available when filling out this application.

During this application you will have the opportunity to upload the eligibility documents required to determine eligibility for Public PreK programs only. Please note that all applications for Type III Childcare Centers or Head Start programs will be shared with those partners as soon as the application is received.


Those applying for the Public Pre-K school will need to submit the following documentation during the application process:

  • One of the following for Income Documentation for each adult in household:
    • 2 Consecutive Pay Statements from each adult listed on the application (the dates on the pay statements must be within  2 months prior to filling out the application.
    • SNAP Benefit Letter with ‘Certified Through Date’ and child’s name
    • Current Foster Care Placement Papers from DCFS – If Applicable
    • Homeless Form (McKinney Vento Form) – If Applicable
    • ‘No Income Form’ for all non-working adults in the home
    • Declaration of Income for Irregular Employment (intermittently employed or self-employed if don’t have pay statements)
    • Letter from Social Security Administration verifying that the child listed on the application is a recipient of SSI benefits.
  • Copy of Child’s Birth certificate (person filling out application must be listed on the birth certificate or you will need to provide Court Custodial Papers)
  • Proof of Residence (Must submit 2 of the following with physical address and name)
    • Utility Bill (Current Electric, gas, or water bill with parent/gaurdian name and physical address)
    • Rental Agreement or Mortgage Statement
    • Drivers License or State Issued ID
    • Note: Cell Phone Bills or other mail are not acceptable forms of Proof Residence

ALL required documentation MUST be received at the Grant Parish School Board Office:

All questions marked with an asterisk (*) MUST be completed for the application to be processed.

NOTICE: This is for Early Head Start/Head Start, Child Care Centers or Pre-K in Grant Early Childhood Network.

Please note the following ages for each program:

  • For Early Head Start: Your child must be between 6 weeks and 2 years of age.
  • For Public Pre-K: Your child must be 4 years of age by September 30, 2026. (DOB should fall between the dates of October 1, 2021 – September 30, 2022.)
  • For Head Start: Your child must be at least 3 years of age and not more than 4 years of age by September 30, 2026.
  • For Child Care Centers: Your child must be between 6 weeks of age and 4 years of age.

How to rank your program choices (1 = top choice):

  1. You will see a list of programs.
  2. Click and hold on the program name (or the up/down handle next to it).
  3. While holding the mouse button down, drag the program up or down to the position you want.
  4. Release the mouse button to drop it in place.
  5. Repeat until the list is in your preferred order.

Important: While you are dragging, the list may temporarily look spaced out or “split” (this is normal). Once you let go, it will snap into the correct order.

If you want a program to be your #1 choice, drag it to the very top of the list.

DOCUMENT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Head Start / Child Care Applicants: Please do not upload any documentation during this application. A Head Start or Child Care Center director/representative will contact you to request documentation.

Public Pre-K Applicants: You will need to submit the documentation listed below during the application process.

IMPORTANT: Please do not upload a copy of the child’s Social Security card or the child’s shot records. These items will be requested by the school during registration (if your child is accepted).
