Chromebook Loan Agreement 2026–2027

Please complete this form to request a Chromebook for your student for the 2026–2027 school year. This agreement must be completed by a parent/guardian and a separate form is required for each student. By submitting, you acknowledge the Grant Parish School Board Chromebook Loan Agreement, including the $30 technology fee and responsibility for any damages or loss as outlined in the policy.

Chromebook Loan Agreement 2026–2027

Please read the Chromebook Loan Agreement carefully. By completing and submitting this form, you and your student agree to follow the guidelines below for the use and care of the district-issued Chromebook.

General Terms

  • The Chromebook and charger are loaned in good working condition for educational use during the 2026–2027 school year.
  • The student is responsible for the care, safe storage, and return of the device when requested or upon withdrawal from Grant Parish Schools.
  • No writing, stickers, tape, or other physical alterations to the Chromebook or charger are allowed.
  • All Chromebooks and chargers remain the property of the Grant Parish School Board and must not be damaged, defaced, or misused.
  • Inappropriate use of the Chromebook may result in loss of device privileges and/or disciplinary action in accordance with district policy.

Usage Rules

  • The Chromebook is for non-commercial, school-related use only and must be used in accordance with district policies and all applicable laws.
  • Only the student to whom the Chromebook is assigned may use the device. User accounts, settings, and configurations must not be changed, tampered with, or bypassed.
  • Labels, barcodes, and any other identifying information on the Chromebook must not be removed, covered, or altered.
  • Use of the Chromebook is a privilege. Students are expected to return the device in the same condition in which it was issued, normal wear and tear excepted.

Loss, Theft, or Damage

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for repair and/or replacement costs due to intentional damage, negligence, or misuse. Repair costs are based on the current cost of parts and are subject to change.
  • The replacement cost of a Chromebook will be determined by the age and condition of the device, not to exceed $350.
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged chargers must be replaced at the parent/guardian’s expense.
  • In the event of theft, the incident must be reported to a school administrator immediately. The parent/guardian must also file a police report and provide a copy to the school.
  • Any defacing of the device, including carving, engraving, or similar damage, will result in the damaged parts being replaced at the parent/guardian’s expense.
  • Any device damaged by another student will be the financial responsibility of the student who caused the damage. Repair or replacement costs will be based on the extent of the damage.
  • Any damage involving bodily fluids will require full device replacement at the parent/guardian’s expense.

Technology Fee

Grant Parish School Board is providing a Chromebook for your child to use during the 2026–2027 school year. There is a $30 technology fee that must be paid in order for the student to use the Chromebook.

  • This fee covers routine maintenance and the use of the device during the school year.
  • Any major damage that makes the device irreparable will require the parent/guardian to cover replacement costs (up to $350).
  • If a loaner Chromebook is issued and damaged due to misuse, negligence, or failure to follow guidelines, the parent/guardian will be responsible for associated repair or replacement costs.

Chromebooks are the property of the Grant Parish School Board and are on loan for school-related work only.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

By agreeing in this form, I (parent/guardian) agree to:

  • Supervise my child’s use of the Chromebook at home and discuss appropriate internet behavior.
  • Ensure the Chromebook is charged nightly and is not left in vehicles, outdoors, or in unsafe environments.
  • Avoid attempting to repair the device myself or cleaning it with liquids or harsh chemicals.
  • Report any issues, loss, or damage to the school as soon as possible.
  • Return the Chromebook and charger to the school when requested or when my child withdraws from the district.
  • Cover repair or replacement costs for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment as outlined in this agreement.

Student Responsibilities

By agreeing in this form, I (student) agree to:

  • Use the Chromebook for school-related purposes only and follow all school rules, district policies, and applicable laws.
  • Treat the Chromebook with care, including keeping it away from drops, rough handling, food, drinks, and extreme temperatures.
  • Keep my passwords secure and never share them. I will not allow others to use or borrow my assigned Chromebook.
  • Never attempt to repair, open, or modify the Chromebook or charger.
  • Charge the Chromebook nightly so it is ready for use at school each day.
  • Return the Chromebook and charger immediately when requested by school staff.
  • Provide the Chromebook to any school staff member for inspection at any time upon request.
  • Only take photos, videos, or audio recordings with the Chromebook when it is part of a school assignment and allowed by my teacher and school rules.
